Accountable for effective administrative management of the credit facilities in compliance with the Bank’s credit policy and procedures and containment of credit risk as per BSC, as well as administration and management of the credit area in compliance with the Banks rules and regulations to minimize risk and legal implications to the organization.
Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

    1.  Customer Focus 

·     Responsible for ensuring that clients receive the best customer experience in a professional manner and that information provided is accurate.

·         Ensure excellent customer service standard and resolve customer complaints effectively. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, businesses and stakeholders. Promote customer loyalty by ensuring the delivery of high-quality lending solutions.

 2. Sales Focus

·       Proactive marketing of the Banks products and cross selling to new/existing clients to meet the banks strategic objectives of the Bank as well as to driving branch targets.

·    Monitoring local market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities. Drive revenue growth through customer acquisition, cross selling and upselling of banks products. Responsible for identifying cross-selling opportunities and to refer such opportunities and leads to the sales area.

 3.  Credit Administration

3.1        Evaluation of credit applications, with reference to risk factors

3.1.1     Financial analysis

3.1.2     Financial structuring

3.1.3     Credit evaluation and assessment

3.1.4     Extensive Collateral knowledge

3.1.5     Bad debts and collections strategies

 3.2        Process credit applications received from various consultants

3.3        Responsible for preparing reports and standard statements / Ensures that monthly returns/reports are submitted to centralised Credit Office.

3.4        Responsible to ensure that costs are recovered in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.

 4.   People Management

  •         Provide leadership to the entire team defining objectives to be achieved and ensuring effective execution of duties and functions as per authority matrix. 
  •         Delegate authority and responsibility in line with business objectives.
  •          Monitor and manage performance effectively.
  •          Manage recruitment, people development, training and effective talent management 
  •          Ensure a safe and inclusive working environment for all employees
  •       Ensure to balance workload and prevent bottle necks, unauthorized overtime and excessive staff turnover

 5.  Expertise

       Adequate knowledge of people's management skills, Banks products and services, credit principles, sales and administration.

 6.   Conduct

      Abide by and uphold the Banks “code of conduct” regarding professionalism, commitment, reliability, confidentiality, brand loyalty,                behaviour in public discipline, etc

 7.   Other duties

       Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties assigned by the management

Qualifications

Grade 12

Diploma/Degree

Credit related courses is an added advantage

 

Experience

 

           At least 5 years credit related experience

           Valid Driver's licence

           Understanding and analysing financials

           Knowledge of Products and Services

           Knowledge of Credit principles

           Computer literacy essential (Word, Excel)

           Budgeting and planning skills.

           Excellent Leadership skills
