Key Responsibilities
· Financial & Accounting Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month- and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT requirements, and internal financial policies. Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, checklists and payment submissions to ensure completeness and accuracy. Strengthen month-end close processes by improving timelines, documentation, and consistency. Maintain up-to-date documentation of key financial processes and internal controls. Identify and implement incremental process improvements to enhance efficiency and control reliability. Drive standardization of financial processes across the organisation. Ensure alignment of accounting practices across business units.
· Vendor & Customer Management: Oversee vendor and customer account management, ensuring timely query resolution and follow-ups. Monitor ageing (vendor and customer) and support improvements in collection and payment cycles. Address escalations and ensure effective resolution of disputes within defined timelines. Support basic performance tracking and reporting (e.g., ageing dashboards, turnaround times).
· Asset & Inventory Control: Oversee fixed asset and inventory processes in line with established policies and best practice. Ensure periodic verification of assets and investigation of variances. Strengthening controls over asset movements, disposals, and reporting. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of asset and inventory balances.
· Fleet Management: Oversee fleet administration, including insurance, claims, and compliance requirements. Monitor fleet-related costs and improve reporting visibility for management decision-making.
· Client Service: Ensure timely and professional resolution of internal and external queries. Monitor response times and support improvements in service delivery consistency.
· People Management: Lead and manage a team of four employees, including performance management, coaching, and development. Conduct skills gap assessments and implement structured development plans. Provide ongoing guidance to strengthen technical capability and process adherence.
· Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to management and relevant committees. Coordinate audit preparation by ensuring availability of reconciliations and supporting documentation. Act as a key contact for auditors, ensuring accurate and timely responses to requests. Monitor VAT compliance and escalate identified risks or gaps. Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory, tax, and internal governance requirements. Provide financial insight and interpretive analysis. Support management and committees with decision-relevant financial information. Contribute to financial policy development and governance frameworks Identify and escalate financial risks and control weaknesses proactively.
· Other Duties: Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties as required by management.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom Accounting with completed articles
- Chartered Accountants advantageous
- 7 years’ financial accounting experience, including 2 years’ management experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS, VAT, and financial controls
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP added advantage)
- Advanced Excel and strong communication skills
