Introduction
The primary purpose of the role is to manage all the key operational activities associated with the processing of credit facilities for the Bank's customers in line with the approved Bank's policies and procedures. This role leads teams within Credit & Collateral Management and ensures efficient processing of credit facilities to deliver expected service standards in a well-controlled environment. The role ensures that all loan disbursements are sanctioned/approved by the right mandate holder, including regular interaction with the Credit and Branch Manager to participate in the formulation of the overall credit strategy. The incumbent will ensure appropriate directing of team members to execute day to day Credit operations and develop training plans to continuously up skill the Credit processing team including the provision of on-the-job coaching and training.

KEY PERFROMANCE AREA

Business Knowledge
·         Effectively translate customer demand/opportunity into commercial outcomes with an awareness on
          generating sales 
·         Leverages indepth business knowledge to build credibility with the Bank's customers and across the
          Branches 
·         Monitors and reviews internal and external data to critically assess emerging customer demands and themes
·         Applies detailed knowledge of the Bank's credit products, and offerings (e.g., Application for Overdrafts,
          Credit Application, and Personal Loan etc.) 
·         Understands how Credit Manager responsibilities is integrated into the overarching Bank's strategy 
·         Proactively collaborates with the Leadership team to execute strategic decisions to optimise long term
          business outcomes
·         Actively seeks new credit facility opportunities and responds to issues and challenges in an innovative way,
          with the focus on improving Branch performance, and increasing overall efficiency and effectiveness in the
          Branch
 
Technical Knowledge
 
·         Takes accountability for the effective and efficient management and administration of collateral/securities in
           compliance with the Bank’s credit policy as well as rules and regulations to minimise risk and legal
           implications to the organisation
·         Evaluates credit portfolio risks, make final credit decisions (within branch mandate) and interacts and
          collaborates with the Branch Manager and other departments regarding credit management strategies 
·         Ensures that all credit facilities are reflected within the Bank's Risk Control Assessment document for the
          Branch
·         Ensures all bad debt losses are identified and maintained in line with the Bank's credit policy and procedures 
·         Identifies, analyses, and maintains bad debt losses in line with the Bank's credit policy

Leadership
·         Provides management and leadership capabilities in the credit team as well as work closely with the
           Universal Consultant
·         Takes responsiblity for workforce planning and people capacity requirements for the credit team
·         Takes accountability for the performance and talent management activities in the credit team
·         Builds strong relationships with customers – internally and externally 
·         Takes responsiblity for the execution and reporting of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) model
·         Builds and enhances long-term working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders/customers

Qualification

·         Diploma in a commercial field

·         Relevant credit and collateral learning modules completed

Experience

·                     Min 7 years credit experience of which 3 years should be on a supervisory level

·         Proven track record of experience in Credit Risk role

Additional Information

·         Psychometric assessment (must be on par or above the norm group for verbal and numerical assessment batteries)

·         Clear criminal and credit record

·         Valid Driver’s Licence/Flexible and mobile across regions.

·         Knowledge of Bank’s products and services, credit principles, sales, and administration processes

·         Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MSTeams

·         Excellent leadership and management skills

·         Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

·         Skill in analysing and evaluating financial information

·         Good writing skills
