Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
1. Compliance Oversight & Risk Mitigation
· Review and assess onboarding documentation submitted by branch personnel to ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks, including KYC, FIA, FATCA, EDD and UBO requirements.
· Offer expert guidance to branch teams regarding the adequacy and completeness of submitted documents, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
· Independently validate documentation for various client exposures to ensure accuracy and completeness, thereby reducing institutional risk.
· Manage the weekly dispatch of regulatory documentation to the Document Warehouse, ensuring timely and secure archiving.
· Enforce account restrictions on profiles that fail to meet compliance standards, in line with internal policies and regulatory mandates.
· Collaborate with the Routine Compliance Officer to address and resolve KYC-related findings identified by Management Assurance, Internal Audit, or Bank of Namibia (BON) inspections.
· Exercise sound judgment in compliance reviews, considering the broader impact and potential consequences of decisions on regulatory and operational outcomes.
2. Customer Support & Internal Guidance
· Deliver prompt and accurate compliance-related support to internal stakeholders, with a focus on KYC requirements and business rule interpretation.
· Monitor and evaluate branch-level compliance with KYC documentation procedures, identifying and addressing deficiencies proactively.
· Lead the execution of internal compliance processes to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk management strategy and regulatory obligations.
3. Product & Regulatory Knowledge
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Financial Intelligence Act (FIA), Know Your Customer (KYC) and related regulatory (UBO, FATCA, EDD).
· Stay current with the bank’s documentation requirements for compliance.
· Understand the broader risk and compliance landscape within the banking sector.
· Adhere to the Bank Windhoek Code of Conduct, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, reliability, and appropriate behavior at all times.

Experience
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a general banking environment
· Familiarity with banking and administrative procedures
· Solid knowledge of KYC, FIA, UBO, FATCA, and EDD regulations
· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Strong relationship management and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
· Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric)
- A relevant Diploma in Banking, Compliance, or a related field will be an advantage
