Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Profitable growth in new business sales
  • Customise a range of appropriate product offerings/financial solutions that meet the financial needs of Agric customers.
  • Sources and takes ownership of sales leads from other divisions within the bank
  • Conducts a thorough value chain analysis on clients in the Agric market segments, in line with the business risk appetite and converts the opportunity

Legislative compliance
  • Explains credit loan facility options, parameters and qualifying criteria to customers. 
  • Motivates and processes non-scored credit applications and explore alternative solutions in the event of declines from Credit 
  • Supports Business Banking to ensure compliance to all applicable legislative requirements

Client Engagement and Support
  • Provides a central advisory/information handling service point for new Agric Business customers before handover of the relationship.
  • Performs a proactive liaison role between customers and branch back-office service fulfilment and credit functions to get new business onto the books.
  • Provide technical support to new and upcoming clients related to Agric and sustainability finance
  • Educates customers on the benefits of utilising self-service channels

Value Proposition
  • Design and develop Agric value proposition which includes commercialisation of the customer value proposition, implementing processes, developing of products and ensure the selling of the correct products to customers while offering superior service to Agric and Business Banking customers.

Market Segment Insight
  • Develop and implement appropriate action plans to increase market share and revenue to desired level.
  • Formulate, drive, measure and manage the Agric Sales Performance strategy for Business Banking in support to the Branch Managers.
  • Influence sales and service target setting, financial budgets, marketing spend and sponsorships of the Agric sector within Business Banking

Minimum requirements

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required
  • A minimum of 3 years’ Banking experience or actual farming experience
  • Demonstrate Business Acumen, understanding of various market and financial risks, understanding of Agric value chain and various industry risks perrtaining to the Agric Sector.
  • Experience within the agricultural sector to provide continuous market astuteness to best serve our customers; develop exclusive value-added solutions to customers by understanding cycles, seasonality and competitive pressures faced by agribusinesses.
  • Support domestic agricultural enterprises to obtain capital and maximize economies of scale through consolidation.
  • Extensive experience with the varied requirements of modern agricultural practices. i.e purchasing farms, providing working capital, insurance, or financing livestock or irrigation.
  • Understanding and analysing of cash-flow cycles pertaining to the Agriculture markets
  • Knowledge of multi-level products available to Business Banking customers and understanding of credit principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial investment options, vehicle and asset finance and electronic banking options for lead generation purposes.
  • Knowledge of competitor offerings and structures.
  • A working knowledge of the terms and conditions of multiple legal entities (companies, close corporations, sole proprietorships etc.) in the commercial market and the legislative restrictions and requirements governing these from a financial services perspective. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Business and Management; or relevant qualification
