Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
1. CREDIT APPLICATION/ASSESSMENT/COLLATERAL/COLLECTIONS
1.1 POLICY & RISK COMPLIANCE
Ensure that credit application and assessments conform to/comply with the “Credit risk management model prescriptions” with limited assistance to interpret credit policy issues.
- Oversee credit compliance to bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and legislation.
- Ensure risk awareness, systems changes, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in risk awareness and educational campaigns within the company
- Ensure implementation of risk control measures
- Ensure that documents and applications are in line with risk policies and requirements
- Be involve in updating of risk ratings and risk control assessments
- Be involve in the identification of new risks and root causes to loss events
- Help Institutionalized the change required for a risk management culture – “make risk everyone’s
business”

1.2 APPLICATION PROCESSING (FORM F65)
Ensure that all applications and submissions for loans exceeding the branch mandate conform to credit application prescriptions and requirements.

1.3 APPROVAL OF LOAN APPLICATIONS WITHIN BRANCH MANDATE
Ensure input enhanced decision-making (as a member of the Loan Consideration Committee) towards the approval of loan applications.

1.4 DEVELOPMENT LOANS
- Discussions and negotiations with potential developers regarding proposed / intended
development projects.
- Obtaining, interpretation of documentation as well as submission of applications for all
development loans.
1.5 COLLATERAL MANAGEMENT
Effective and Efficient control and management of collateral & securities in compliance with the Banks rules and regulations to minimize risk and legal implications to the organisation
- Ensure all applicable documentation for credit applications are received from sales.
- Responsible to ensure that documents for entry are completed correctly with the required authorisation and signatures.
- Daily referral processes
- Responsible for preparing reports and standard statements / Ensures that monthly returns/reports are submitted to centralised Credit Office.
- Responsible for ensuring that contracts are complete and legally correct
1.6 COLLECTION MANAGEMENT
Effective and Efficient control and management of collections in compliance with the Banks rules and regulations to minimize risk and legal implications to the organisation
- Aftercare for all collections, specifically Stage 2.2 & BID2 reports to be worked through.
- Manage Bad Debt in relation to total assets (Not to exceed 1%)
- Monthly report to Management and Credit Department.
- Follow up on Irregular accounts.
2. CREDIT AFTERCARE
2.1 HOUSING SCHEME MANAGEMENT
Ensure that housing scheme limits and security reports to Head Office Credit Department are revised on or before expiry date, with limited reminders from Head Office Credit Department.
- Control of Bank’s Housing Schemes countrywide and conduct periodic reviews of approved limits and facilities.
- Fully Guaranteed Schemes: Control of Bank’s Pension Schemes countrywide and conduct periodic reviews.
3. CUSTOMER FOCUS
3.1 CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ensure that clients are handled in a professional manner with accurate information about the Bank’s products and services.
4. SALES FOCUS
4.1 MARKETING
Responsible to identify cross selling opportunities within department and refer such opportunities and leads to the correct person, branch or department involved.
4.2 ACHIEVING ALLOCATED DIVISIONAL OBJECTIVES
Contribute to achievement of set branch objectives on a monthly basis.
5. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
Provide management and leadership capabilities in the Branch.
Ensure effective workforce planning and people capacity requirements for the branch.
Overall responsible for performance and talent management in the branch.
Create a productive environment in which staff members can rotate to upskill and do on the job training.
5.1 PERSONNEL TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT AND FACILITATION
Ensure that formal and on-the-job training is effectively planned and conducted and that sufficient expertise is available to deal with the work.
5.2 EVALUATION OF PERSONNEL
Must have sufficient knowledge of personnel and their duties to do effective evaluation and ongoing discussions must take place. Ensure that evaluations are done on a regular basis according to the guidelines of the system.

The person should have adequate knowledge of products and services provided by the Bank.
