The Managing Director will be responsible to drive the Bank’s strategy, ensuring competitiveness and
sustainable business performance. As a member of the Group Exco, the incumbent is expected to
collaborate with other Group companies to optimise synergies and opportunities for growth. This role
reports to the Capricorn Group Chief Executive Officer and the Bank Windhoek board of directors.

• Deliver on board approved company targets for growth and financial results.
• Strategy development and execution, directing the operationalisation and implementation of the
strategic business plan.
• Risk management in line with the Gr oup Risk and Internal Control Assurance Framework.
• Ambassador and chief spokesperson for the Bank, overseeing execution of the Bank’s stakeholder
management plan.
• Customer relations’ champion.
• Promotes diversity, equity and inclusion in people policies and practices.
• Continuous business transformation through digital transformation and data.
• Continuous improvement of operational excellence.
• Development of future-fit leadership, talent and executive teams.

Minimum requirements
Minimum Requirements
• A post-graduate professional or academical qualification in a relevant field.
• Ideally the candidate should possess a financial qualification such as CA, CFA, or a business
qualification such as an MBA or appropriate master’s degree.
• An internationally accredited executive leadership course will be an advantage.
• Preference will be given to suitably qualified Namibian citizens.

Experience/Knowledge and Skills required
• Fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience in the financial services industry, of which ten years must have
been at executive management level. Five (5) years must have been in an executive management
position in a Bank.
• A proven track record of successfully managing a business, leading large and cross-functional teams
and projects, managing a large budget and driving cost effectiveness.
• Experiences in interacting with Boards and Board committees.
• Being diversity conscious with strong networking skills, whilst engaging for impact.
• High levels of business awareness and acumen; change and transformational leadership abilities;
excellent communication and critical thinking skills; complex decision-making abilities; emotional
intelligence; high stress tolerance and being ethically accountable.
