PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION Effective and Efficient acquisition, retention and expansion of personal banking customers through pro-active sales, service and advice according to customer needs and requirements, in compliance with the Banks credit policy, procedures and containment of risks as per BSC.
Job description

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
 
1 Customer Focus
• Visit clients and establish a knowledge database of client’s needs and requirements. 
• Provide clients with advice where needed and establish a trusted relationship with the company.
• Building long-term working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the CRM model of the Branch.
 
2 Sales Focus
• Proactively soliciting of new business through cultivation of key referral resources and relationships tools and integrate business strategies with the objectives of the company.
• Initiate and action a proactive sales action strategy for new to bank clients within portfolio
• Achieving Sales objectives allocated to the division including Bancassurance
• Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements on accounts maintenance within the portfolio including management of mandates and all related account opening policies.
 
3 Credit Risk and Aftercare 
• Preparation of credit applications, with reference to risk factors:
• Financial analysis
• Financial structuring
• Credit evaluation and assessment
• Collateral
• Ensure all applicable documentation for credit applications are received when dealing with clients
• Responsible to ensure that documents for entry are completed correctly with the required authorization and signatures
• Responsible for ensuring that contracts are complete, legally correct and signed before forwarding it for processing
• Responsible to ensure that costs are recovered in accordance with the prescribed guidelines
• Ensure that credit and sales strategies aligns with business plan of the company
• Completion of all applicable documentation for credit facilities: existing and new customers 
• Aftercare for all client requirements within the portfolio, including arrears and Bid 2 requirements
 
4 People Management
• Interface with other Business bankers and bank officials to ensure ongoing communication with regard to existing and future customers 
• Sufficient knowledge of staff and their duties to effectively manage inter-relationship between clients and the employees of the company.
 
5 Expertise
• Adequate knowledge of Banks products and services, as well as credit and sales strategies and relationship tools.
 
6 Conduct
• Abide by and uphold the Banks “code of conduct” regarding: professionalism, commitment, reliability, confidentiality, brand loyalty, behavior in public discipline, etc
 
7 Other duties
• Willing to perform any other reasonable and lawful duties assigned by the management.

Minimum requirements

Experience/Knowledge & Skills
•    At least 3 years general banking experience, business and consultative sales experience
•    Knowledge of Products and Services
•    Knowledge of Business & Administration Procedures
•    Knowledge of Credit principles
•    Computer literacy essential (Word, Excel)
•    Budgeting and planning skills.
•    Excellent Leadership skills
•    Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
•    Skill in analyzing and evaluating financial information.
•    Passion to work with numbers as well as people.
 
QUALIFICATION
•    Grade 12
•    Valid Namibia Drivers License
•    Bachelors degree in financial services field will be an advantage
