Introduction
As the Digital Business Optimisation Manager the Retail Banking Services Department (RBS), the incumbent will play a pivotal role in enabling and maximising business efficiency and effectiveness within the Department by leveraging data capabilities and insights to drive product and revenue optimization for electronic money and the broader retail banking , and ultimately enhance the customer experience, and maximize business performance. The role will collaborate cross-functionally within the Retail Banking Services Department (RBS) e.g. segment teams, product teams, branch network, as well cross-departmentally with other key internal stakeholders such as Information Technology, Operations, Digital Data, e-Channels, Business and Corporate Banking etc. The role will drive business, product and revenue optimisation through data-driven strategies and capabilities for electronic money and the broader Retail Banking Services and ensure successful delivery of product optimization initiatives that drive user engagement, satisfaction, and business growth.
Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

 

Business Optimisation: Data Analytics

  •    Utilize advanced analytics techniques to extract insights from databases and datasets related to transactional activity, user behaviour, and market trends.
  •     Drive the collection of new data and refines existing data sources to ensure a robust and comprehensive data capability.
  •      Utilise existing and identify new key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards to monitor product performance and customer engagement metrics.
  •           Conduct analysis to identify patterns, trends, and areas for optimization.
  •         Engage external data sources to complement the internal data capabilities for decision making around customers and products.
  •     Collaborates with technical resources to design, implement, secure, and maintain data architecture strategies    around the enterprise data warehouse and the use of management and business intelligence tools.
  •           Develop, implement, and maintain records and information dashboards to track and report on project, statuses, and outcomes.

Revenue Optimisation

  •        Utilise advanced analytics techniques to undertake pricing, cost and revenue impact evaluation exercises.
  •        Conduct analysis to identify revenue leakages.

Business Optimisation: Product Development

  •         Collaborate with product owners to define and prioritize optimization opportunities based on data-driven insights, market demand, industry developments etc. for e-money.
  •      Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to facilitate alignment and drive cross-functional collaboration in support of e-money product objectives / priorities.
  •      Implement customer-centric approach to product development and inform the e-money strategies that will enhance product features, usability, and overall customer satisfaction.
  •       Monitor key performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews to assess the effectiveness of e-   money product initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Business Optimisation: Projects

  •     Provide assistance and support for projects and initiatives pertaining to data governance and product     development, and collaborate with project role players / teams to execute project responsibilities and tasks     according to timelines and budget. 

Operational Efficiency

  • Contribute to the operational efficiency strategic goal of the e-Money function through sound business process management practices pertaining to reporting, data management and product development.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in a business or technology field.
 
Experience
• 3 years or more work-experience in database management, data analysis, product management, or related roles within the banking or financial services industry
• Strong understanding/focus on digital technologies and platform ecosystems and how this impacts Retail Banking.
• Financial industry experience preferred
• Analytical mindset with a passion for leveraging data to solve business challenges.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify actionable insights that inform data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches to fit project needs.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Financial industry experience preferred.
