PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Business Analyst Lead is responsible for the daily management of the department, and has to actively manage clients, resources, assets, project plans and deliverables to ensure a professional service is provided as effectively and efficiently as possible.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA’s)
  • Daily management of the Processes and Procedures department to provide the services required to support the Capricorn Group of companies. Services Include:
  • Processes and Procedures Documentation
  • Development of Business Process Improvement and Reengineering Business Requirements
  • Process Analysis, Design and Reengineering
  • Business Capability Management
  • Ensuring that the standards, frameworks and methodologies regarding business analysis, processes and procedures are in place and being utilised.
  • Establish and maintain a central repository for all business processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the duties of the Business Analysts.
  • Responsible for the identification, management and resolution of key issues on projects.
  • Ensure that services delivered by the department are of a high quality and meets the clients’ expectations.
  • Determine annual project requirements, allocate appropriate resources to projects and ensure that agreed deadlines are met.
  • Proactively investigates existing processes and procedures, identify areas of weakness and recommend changes.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Business Units, IT Platforms to ensure that processes and procedures are always aligned with any new initiatives.
  • Ensure that other entities in the Group, i.e. Bank Gaborone. are supported.
  • Ensure that the centralised communication system (SharePoint) is managed and updated.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
     
  • People Management
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff to enable them to achieve their objectives;
  • Recruitment and Onboarding in collaboration with HR to recruit top talent for the team;
  • Performance Management through the establishment of clear performance objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for team members;
  • Attend to all staffing matters of the department;
  • Manage the coaching and development of staff;
  • Ensure succession planning within the area;
  • Pursuing effective reaching of diversity targets;

Minimum requirements

Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
 
  • The job requires:
  • 7 years Business and Process Analysis experience
  • 7 years Project Management experience
  • Financial services industry experience preferred 
  • Computer skills including good proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Teams, BPM
    software solutions and/or other project management tools as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • In depth knowledge of the Business Analysis, APQC standard, BPMN 2.0 Methodology and knowledge of Business
  • Process Management (BPM) and BPM software solutions.
  • Ability to manage a specialised team.
  • Ability to come up with new ideas
  • Excellent knowledge of banks systems and procedures
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
•    Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
•    Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma Green belt, or Project Management certifications are an added advantage.
