PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION Efficiently manage and coordinate all product knowledge, services, and systems training initiatives. Ensure that all learning and development interventions align with the organisation’s strategic objectives and employees’ development needs and reflect the values of the Capricorn Group. Deliver training in a courteous and professional manner, in full compliance with the Capricorn Group’s policies and procedures.
Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1.     TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSES

·         Research and compilation of questionnaires and documentation to perform comprehensive analyses of product knowledge, services, and systems training needs.

·         Continuous liaison with Business Stakeholders to ensure that training interventions, effectively and efficiently address the skills gap requirements of employees.

·         Continuous liaison with Business Stakeholders to determine strategic training deliverables and priorities as well as problem areas experienced in order to improve the quality and relevance of training interventions.

·         Interpretation of and reporting on training needs identified.

 

2.     SOURCING AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS, SALES AND SERVICE TRAINING INTERVENTIONS AND MATERIAL

·         Sourcing and development of customised learning/training interventions aligned to business objectives and the learning outcomes required by learners in their daily working environment, i.e. learning/training which ensures that learners have the skills required to deliver on and add value to the objectives of the organisation.

·         Ensuring that the development of learning interventions, employ best practice training delivery approaches.

·         Ensuring that training/learning interventions and appropriate training aids simulate the working environment as closely as possible.

·         Maintenance of training/learning material

·         Maintenance and Quality assurance of learning/training interventions, case studies and other learning materials

 

3.     BUDGETING

·         Providing input into the overall Budget for the People Development department

·         Managing costs and expenditure in terms of the People Development budget

 

4.     TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

·         Facilitation of product knowledge, services, and systems training interventions.

·         Monitoring/follow up and quality assurance of outsourced training/learning interventions.

·         Evaluating and measuring candidates’ retention and application of learning.

·         Coordinating higher learning education and Career development

·         Testing of learning environment and systems prior to training interventions and ensuring that learning environment is aligned with systems processes and procedures

·         Monitoring/follow up on candidates.

·         Planning and scheduling of training.

·         Branch and Departmental visits.

·         Assist in planning and compilation of the People Development training plan

 

5.     SELF DEVELOPMENT

·         Keeping abreast of national and international learning and training philosophies and practices.

·         Keeping abreast of best practice facilitation techniques.    

·         Spending at least six weeks of the year working in branches to stay in touch with day-to-day operations.

·         Ensuring complete familiarity with all operational policy and procedural changes.

·         Publishing a quarterly article on system related issues in the bank.

·         Transferring skills and knowledge of training aids

·         Knowledge of systems and procedures

·         Compliance with Policies and procedures

·         Keeping abreast of local and global changes regarding products and services

·         Keep track with product changes/competitors internally/locally

  

6.     ADMINISTRATION

·      Filing of Master Copies

·      Evaluating and Reporting on the performance of delegates

·      Monitoring the follow-up of delegates

 

7.     GENERAL

·      Must be willing/prepared to do any other reasonable and lawful instruction/task and ensure that it is carried out on time and correct.

·       Provide support to team members during operational bottlenecks to ensure continuity and efficiency in workflow processes.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

·         At least 3-5 years general bank experience

·         Experience in facilitating Product and/or System related training interventions

·         Excellent Knowledge and thorough understanding of Systems, Services and products

·         Self-confidence and excellent interpersonal skills

·         Compliance with Policies and procedures

·         Computer literate

 

 QUALIFICATION

·         Grade 12 (Matric)

·         Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.

·         Should be in possession of a code B drivers’ license.
