The Copywriter will be responsible for the development and conceptualisation of creative copy for the Creative Services unit.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS)

1. CREATIVE COPYWRITING
•    Manage and write clear, concise, grammatically correct and compelling copy for various mediums (i.e. through-the-line)
•    Translate briefs, creative direction and the strategic requirements into a persuasive copy solution
•    Understand the different language styles and nuances that appeal to various target markets
 
2. CONCEPTUALISATION
•    Participate in the creative brainstorming process as a critical role player in all creative conceptualisation
•    Conceptualise and proactively identify creative trends and opportunities
•    Storyteller: able to use emotion and impact in creating compelling campaigns and copy
 
3. GUIDANCE & SUPPORT
•    Direct and produce effective, impactful and compelling copy that reflects insight into the task, the brand and the target market
•    Provide creative writing support to the Corporate Communication Division for publications such as the Annual Report, internal newsletter/magazine
 
4. BRAND COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT
•    Ensure error-free compliance of creative material’s copy to all C.I. brand elements including corporate and visual identity and brand value proposition
•    Provide quality control over concepts and projects to ensure brand consistency
 
5.   CREATIVE STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
•    Support the development of comprehensive (multi-media) creative strategies as per the brief provided
•    Develop and provide creative copy and concept solutions for all touchpoint material e.g. brochures, flyers, posters, social media posts etc
 
6. TEAM SUPPORT
•    Team player and inspire the creative team

Minimum requirements

 
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
•    Expert command in English language (written and spoken). Proficiency in any other local language will be an added advantage
•    At least three years’ experience in a senior creative or management position within an advertising agency or related industry
•    Knowledge of basic design fundamentals
•    Strong working knowledge and experience in copywriting, brand management and the creative
conceptualisation processes
•    Computer literate: Technical knowledge of related programmes and computer software
•    Strong conceptual strategic thinker with the ability to understand the target audience
•    Exceptional communication skills; written and verbal
 
QUALIFICATION
•    Grade 12
•    Copywriting Diploma/Degree (minimum 2 years study), through a recognised institution
•    Relevant Art or Language Diploma or Degree
